Project 2  - The Troublemakers Manifesto : A Design Colloquium (Collateral)

Upon making our key artwork, we had to move on to designing our collateral. We had to apply our main artwork to three separate collaterals. A poster is a compulsory one.

Collateral #1: Poster
For the poster, we have to put the information below in the poster.

The Design School,
Taylor’s University

Feedbacks

Week 7 (07.10.19)
Specific Feedbacks : The visual is good, just have to add more things to it. Mr Vinod asked me to add another hand so it creates a flow. And add another part of the body to the hand. Lecture slides need to be uploaded. No further reading.

Week 8 (14.10.19)
Specific Feedbacks:
The word "The Troublemakers Manifesto" doesn't sit well with the key artwork. Mr. Vinod suggested that I can draw my title out, and look at Alan Fletcher's artworks as reference. I had to sort it out within this hour, in order for me to proceed to my project 2.
It looks better now after the amendments , Mr Vinod told me to add another thing so that the other hand is holding something too.

Week 9 (21.10.19)
General Feedback :
Mr. Vinod advised us to not use Photoshop when creating our poster and to use Adobe Illustrator instead as it is more suitable. Specific Feedback :
Mr. Vinod told me to use graph paper underneath the torn paper effect instead of just black. Mr. Vinod told me that the t-shirt and the tote bag has to have a relation and it should look similar. Date and names of speakers may be included in some situation.

Reflection

Experiences

Week 7
I finally found a direction that I can go for after hearing my feedbacks from Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul. The Composition of the artwork is important as it will help us in the upcoming collateral project. I woke up late to class today , didn't heard my alarm this morning. But I manage to rush to class.

Week 8
I am finally on the right path. Mr. Vinod asked me to draw my title out and I was quite hesitant at first but it turned out to be one of my favourite artworks.

Week 9
Finally done with my poster and I am satisfied with the outcome. I can focus more on my T-shirt and Tote bag design now.

Observations

Week 7
The class proceeded as usual with classmates being stressed out because their artworks are not approved yet.

Week 8
Most of my classmates Project 1 has been approved and they were all fast to move on to Project 2. Some of my classmates key artworks are really nice. And they also helped me on my key artwork.

Week 9
Most of us have already moved onto project 2. Everyone really focused on their posters and we test printed it out onto a A3 paper in black and white today.

Findings

Week 7
I was for late the first time, and I found out that I had set my alarm to 7PM instead of 7AM.

Week 8
I found out about the artist 'Alan Fletcher' through Mr.Vinod. And the artist's artworks are very interesting.

Week 9
I found out that a T-shirt is difficult to design and I can only do a few variations for it. I also found out that next Monday is a public holiday (Deepavali).

The paper examines the connotation of the Helvetica typeface at the time of its revived popularity. In addition to the adoption of relevant references to support this study, the authors also conducted a survey to examine the role of Helvetica as the basic component in relation to consumer response.

This research is in the form of a secondary research, since previous studies have been cited and similar methods of analysis have been used to gather information. However, the researchers had also conducted their own surveys and the results are deemed as primary sources. The content of the article fits well and are in an orderly manner and it shows clearly the purpose of the research.
