Week 1 (17/04/2020)
In the first class we were briefed about the module and what to expect from this module. This module is an advancement from the Design Research Methodology module.
Firstly, we focused on the data analysis and discussion section. Before that, we had to create a research matrix to identify the similar themes and keywords from the data collected from the research. We needed columns for the details, literature, and data collected for each keyword / topic.

Week 2
For my matrix, it looks fine and the themes from each sections are related to each other. For my discussion, I have ti start with a description, for example "what is advertising?"etc. But it is also important to not go too ,much on the descriptive parts.
Week 4
Dr Jin Chi helped me change my discussion sturcture topics to make it more in depth. It has to be discussing the effectiveness of advertising- which is the viewer's perspective. Explain about advertising also in the definition & application of advertising so that it creates a flow into the next discussion. I should include my visual analysis, survey and secondary data when discussing about the advertisements. Also try to finish all the definitons by next week.
Week 5
I have to put in more informationa dn also include the necessary visuals into my analysis and discussion. Mention about advertisements more in the first part so that it flows naturally to the next session. In 6.2, i need to indicate how poeple view advertisements. In 6.2.2 it is not design principles but visual contents or the important elements that should be in advertisements.
Week 4

Week 6
Dr Jin Chi wen through my introduction and she mentioned that it is correct and it explains the whole dissertation. Fot my literqature review it is acceptable to just submit 7 crtitcal reviews on Sunday and continue to work on the summarised literature review and show it next week. Finish up the conclusion.
Week 7
No need to include bibliography of the journal articles into the literature review. And also i should write about how it relates to my research at the begining or ending of each topic. Try to fit in all 7 critical reviews. The book should be in A5 size and the references looks interesting. I am good to go on the literature reviews but I still have to try to add in my last crtitical review.
Week 8
Hi Ava, below is my feedback to your dissertation draft. Please make the necessary amendments for the final submission.
• Critical Discussion: Discussion was conducted with the description of how typeface work alongside other design elements to create effective print ads. These elements should be discussed further within the context of the message in the ads. The discussion would be more dynamic if survey data is included.
• Application of research: Applied accordingly.
• Written communication skills: Able to communicate well with good writing skills.
• Overall structure: Organised and sections are well laid out in sequence, making sense to the reader. Research Methodology section needs to be more thorough (refer to detailed comments are found in Google Docs).
• References, picture credits, appendices: Applied accordingly.

Week 9
Dr Jin Chi suggested that i put relevant images into my book layout, in order to match the contents of my research. For example, under literature review i can include a picture of a person reading, under research methodology I can include a picture of a person interviewing or giving out surveys. Black and white pictures will be more suitable for my layout. I may also add some background pictures and tweak the opacity of it so. Do not forget to credit the pictures.
Week 11
I told Dr JIn Chi about my situation about my laptop and she told me to update her. I would stillbe able to turn in the pdf for turn it in.
